Our work together

Your decision to explore counselling may be prompted by any number of reasons. You may have experienced the loss of somebody close to you. Perhaps you are facing challenging personal or work relationships. You may be experiencing depression or fear or loneliness. Or you may wish to look at yourself and reflect on your patterns of behaviour in a new way. Counselling offers an opportunity to be your full self, to express any thoughts and feelings you may have and still feel fully accepted.

First steps

At our first meeting, we will set out to understand why you are looking for counselling and I will then adapt my approach to address your specific concerns. I offer a safe and confidential environment – free from judgement – a space for exploration and discovery, a protected hour in which you will be listened to, where we can together explore and come to understand some of the more difficult aspects of your life, enabling you to feel more grounded and more aware.

It can be a challenge to ask for help – many of us may have grown up believing that to ask for help shows weakness. The reverse is true – asking for help demonstrates real courage and curiosity, a clear indication that deep down you value yourself and want to understand yourself better. My role as counsellor is to assist you in coming to terms with your story, feeling more autonomous in the choices you make, and ultimately more empowered.

About me

I have a Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling from Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC). My training has allowed me to draw on a variety of therapeutic models and methods, adapting my approach to your specific concerns.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its Code of Ethics, attending regular supervision with a qualified supervisor to ensure my counselling work is both ethical and effective.

The most important ingredient of successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. My principal aim is to establish a unique relationship with you as my client, so that you feel you can bring all of yourself into the encounter.

I welcome people from the LGBTQIA+ community. I am respectful of a wide range of sexual experiences and identities.

You can email me with any questions, and we can go from there.

I look forward to hearing from you.
